These pieces are made with up-cycled cotton T-shirts and sheets as an exploration of renewal in the "rag rug" style. Many of the materials have been hand-dyed, particularly with with natural indigo using various shibori techniques. Throughout the series, I play with traditional tapestry forms and other hand-manipulated on-loom structures (embroidery weaves, rya knots), magnifying and showcasing techniques often used with great subtlety.
